The ICE 500ES Babyvibro was put into action at the Putrajaya Lake project in Putrajaya, Malaysia.
The opening ceremony was officiated by Malaysian Premier, Datuk Sri Dr. Mahathir Mohammed, who also inspected and operated the 500ES from the excavator cabin.
Putrajaya will be developed as the new Federal Government Administrative Center taking the capital city away from Kuala Lumpur (population 1.8mn), leaving Kuala Lumpur as the country's financial and commercial capital.
The scale of the Putrajaya project is grandiose. Located 22 miles south of KL and projected to cost up to US$8.1bn, Putrajaya will be developed as a 37,000-acre Garden City metropolis - about 3/4 the size of Manhattan - with intelligent features focusing on the preservation of its 'eco-culture'.
