New Casagrande C6 Crawler Rigs for Utraco and ABV Fleet

The C6 is the most popular machine in the Casagrande's range of small bore drilling rigs. Hundreds of them are working on construction sites throughout the world, drilling through a variety of soils and rock. They are dependable machines, designed and built in the true Casagrande tradition of reliability and robustness. They are versatile machines; which guarantee high performance in the construction of micropiles and anchors and in soil investigation and jet grouting.

Versatility is a result of the modular design of their components whose choice and layout is a result of many years of extensive field testing; they can be fitted with:

� Different types of mast, each with different extension pieces and components;

� Different models of rotary heads with optional hydraulic drifter or drill string chucks;

� Service winches;

Onboard flushing pumps for water, mud or foams.

The machines are fitted with two control panels; one for travelling and mast movement controls, the other for drilling and rotary head controls. The latter is mobile and can be positioned conveniently to enable the operator to see the drill hole during the drilling operation. The layout and labelling of all servo assisted or electric controls has been carefully studied to provide the operator with maximum comfort and safety.

The machines are designed safe and built tough, meeting or exceeding all national and international safety standards. An efficient sound proofing system is also available for work in urban areas. The C6 machines are designed to drill boreholes using all the commonly known drilling tools and methods, such as:

� Roller or drag bits;

� Continuous flight augers;

� Coring barrels;

� Down-the-hole hammers;

� External drifters and back hammer.
